Elizabeth Ambrose
Music Therapist
LAPC MMT MT-BC
She/Her/Hers
Elizabeth is dedicated to using music's transformative potential in recovery and mental health support. She holds degrees in Music Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Slippery Rock University.
She specializes in community music therapy, gender-expansive approaches, and intersectional feminist perspectives. Beyond clinical work, she teaches and produces musical theater throughout Pittsburgh and performs actively in the local music scene. Her therapeutic philosophy centers on narrative work and creative self-expression as pathways to empowerment.
Elizabeth's love for music runs deep — so deep that she carries a piece of it with her everywhere she goes. As a devoted Beatles fan, she has Abbey Road tattooed on her ankle, with her favorite track being The End.

Lauren Grawert
Medical Director
MD
She/Her/Hers
Dr. Grawert is a double board-certified Psychiatrist and Addiction Specialist who treats adolescents and adults with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. She advocates for expanded mental health access and works to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and addiction treatment.
Dr. Grawert's path to medicine was inspired by reading a personal account from a young cancer patient, which motivated her to pursue healthcare. She grew up in rural South Carolina and volunteered at hospitals during her teenage years. She earned her undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude from Clemson University, where she majored in English and Spanish alongside pre-med coursework. She completed her Medical Degree at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Her clinical philosophy emphasizes that "You are more than your symptoms," focusing on strengths-based treatment with evidence-based medication management tailored to individual needs.
Beyond clinical work, Dr. Grawert engages in advocacy and policy work, participating in the American Society of Addiction Medicine's Hill Day to discuss healthcare issues with Congress members.
Dr. Grawert is always learning, always thinking, and always finding new ways to optimize life — with a talent for multitasking, including writing blogs while using her treadmill desk.

Corey Deasy
Founding Partner
He/Him/His
Corey leads Mind Dojo with an entrepreneurial approach to mental health care. His mission stems from personal loss to mental illness and focuses on expanding access and awareness of mental health resources.
Beyond mental health, Corey has introduced Pittsburgh to escape rooms, recreational curling, axe throwing, and launched a game show venue at Playground Dropout in Millvale. He emphasizes integrating physical wellness — nutrition, fitness, hormone regulation — with mental health and is known for data-driven approaches to optimization and longevity research.
Corey shares a familial connection with Dallas Cowboys Coach Mike McCarthy, which colleagues attribute to his relentless drive for success and obsession with game strategy.

Laryn Rajkarnikar
Senior Nurse Practitioner & Director of Wellness
RN MSN CRNP FNP-BC PMHNP-BC
She/Her/Hers
Laryn drives Mind Dojo's expansion into holistic wellness by merging medical expertise with client-centered care. As a dual board-certified Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she manages psychiatric medication, hormone optimization, vitamin deficiencies, and overall wellness.
She earned her Post-Graduate degree in Psychiatric Mental Health from the University of South Alabama and her MSN in Family Nurse Practitioner from Graceland University. She holds certification as an Opioid Treatment Specialist.
With experience spanning pediatrics, hospice, primary care, infectious disease, LGBTQIA+ healthcare, and mental health, Laryn champions destigmatizing mental healthcare and ensuring equitable access for marginalized communities. She is bilingual in Spanish, a certified medical interpreter and aromatherapist, delivering culturally competent, trauma-informed care while empowering clients in their wellness journey.
Before her career in healthcare, Laryn worked in corrosion exposure, mechanical, and materials testing — a field so niche that even her colleagues at Mind Dojo aren't entirely sure what that means!

Justin Lokay
Founding Partner
He/Him/His
Justin's journey to founding Mind Dojo stemmed from battling severe anxiety, depression, and complications from a life-threatening hemorrhagic stroke related to rare congenital heart disease. This experience shaped his conviction that mental and physical health interconnect, and traditional treatment overlooks the body and soul.
He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and earned his MBA from Point Park University. At 23, he was elected councilman, later working on Mayor Bill Peduto's Public Safety Transition Team. As a marketing and media strategist with over two decades of experience, he founded LexCorp Industries and co-owns Lokay Lanes bowling alley. He also hosts the podcast "Straight Outta Therapy," addressing mental health topics candidly.
Justin has had the honor of meeting five U.S. Presidents, but still considers his greatest privilege to be working with and learning from U.S. Senator Arlen Specter. He also named all three of his children after comic book characters.

Rebecca Haney
Therapist
MA LAPC NCC
She/Her/Hers
Rebecca is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor with a B.A. in Psychology (Clinical Concentration) and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Messiah University. After completing her internship at Mind Dojo, she was retained as a staff therapist.
Her therapeutic approach emphasizes empowerment and goal-orientation, drawing from CBT, REBT, Gestalt, Existential, and DBT modalities. She specializes in trauma-focused work and continues to build advanced skills in this area.
Her Alaskan Malamute is named after one of the NHL's greatest goaltenders — because hockey is life.

Elizabeth Vasinko
Clinical Director
MA LPC EMDRIA-C
She/Her/Hers
Liz holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Carlow University and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a certified EMDR therapist specializing in trauma processing and works with adults, adolescents, families, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those in recovery.
As Clinical Director, Liz serves as the compass, heart, and steadying force for Mind Dojo, providing mentorship and advocacy for her team and clients. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes warm, direct, and deeply intentional care rooted in helping people rediscover strength and meaning.
Before pursuing mental health, Liz nearly became a fashion merchandiser and still maintains her portfolio. Though she now prioritizes function over fashion, she can still put together a killer look when the occasion calls for it.

Ryan Lokay
Clinician
MSCP LPC
She/Her/Hers
Ryan earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, where she competed as an elite-level swimmer on a full athletic scholarship. She competed in the Olympic Trials qualifier, was ranked 23rd in the world in the 50-meter breaststroke, became a Big East Champion, and reached the World Cup finals.
She later earned her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and became a Licensed School Counselor. Her school-based mental health experience provides insight into pressures young people face today. Ryan emphasizes the mind-body-soul connection and incorporates mindfulness, movement, and nutrition principles into her practice.
While earning her master's degree and competing professionally in swimming, Ryan worked as a professional bartender, mixing up cocktails and conversation with Pittsburgh's social scene — finding it beneficial practice for her current therapy career.

Gina Shinton
Billing & Client Care Manager
CPC
She/Her/Hers
Gina brings precision and compassion to Mind Dojo's billing and client care operations. With expertise in finance and medical coding, she spent over a decade at PNC Bank as a Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant before transitioning to healthcare. She earned her CPC license through Clemson University's medical coding program.
Gina is passionate about mental health advocacy and values taking intake calls to help individuals begin their healing journey. She believes strongly in authenticity and treating every client with dignity and respect throughout their experience.
Gina has a creative side, holding both a cosmetology and a cosmetology teacher's license — and she's always sporting a fresh, unique set of nails.

Sarah Vranish
Therapist
MS LAPC
She/Her/Hers
Sarah holds both a Bachelor's in Psychology (Counseling concentration) and a Master's in Professional Counseling from Carlow University. Her therapeutic style integrates Buddhist psychology, mindfulness, CBT, polyvagal theory, and trauma-focused interventions. She is currently pursuing certification in Somatic Trauma Therapy.
Beyond clinical work, Sarah practices herbalism — a family tradition — and finds healing through gardening. She maintains balance through yoga, meditation, hiking with her dog, kayaking, and attending live music events.
As a child, Sarah had a soft spot for rescuing animals — she would hide stray kittens in her room and nurse them back to health, long before she even knew she was destined for a career in helping others heal.
