Trauma-Informed Yoga
A supportive yoga practice designed to help regulate the nervous system and rebuild body awareness.
What Is Trauma-Informed Yoga?
Trauma lives in the body as much as the mind. Traditional yoga can sometimes feel overwhelming for people carrying unresolved trauma — certain poses, physical adjustments, or even the vulnerability of closing your eyes in a group setting can trigger a stress response.
Trauma-informed yoga is different. Our certified instructors are trained to create choice-based, body-aware classes that prioritize safety, agency, and nervous system regulation. Every cue is an invitation, never a command. The goal isn't flexibility — it's reconnection with your own body.
Key Principles
- Choice-based language — every cue is an invitation
- No hands-on adjustments without explicit consent
- Emphasis on interoception (noticing internal sensations)
- Nervous system regulation through breath and movement
- Safe environment with predictable structure
